Day 12 - Gastown, Vancouver

Today we met with the best tour guide in town - Georgina (Ivan's sister) who showed us the sights - thanks Georgina!
We met at the steam powered clock, the world's first built in 1977. It looks a little like a minature Big Ben and toots quarter hourly and whistles on the hour.
We then walked along the cobbled streets and the Victorian buildings that are now a host to many tourist and souvenier shops.
We then took the sea bus, a short ferry ride to North Vancouver, which s a city in it's own right. We strolled around the market area and admired the beautiful views from the other side of the city.
Canada Place was our next destination, where large cruise ships are housed and the one there today was called Coral Princess.
A short drive to Stanley Park, where we visited The Aquarium and saw Qila (pronounced Keela) a Beluga Whale and her new born 6 week old calf. They were beautiful and the calf very cute - I can't remember her name. They have made history as eing the first whales in captivity to breed and are constantly monitored to see how they progress.
We then went to Prospect Place, to enjoy the best views of the city and the Lions Gate Bridge.
We completed our tour in Downtown Vancouver with a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants - thanks again Georgina for a fabulous day !
