Day 10. Banff to Kamloops/ Lake Louise

we left Creekside Inn in Banff to depart to long drive to Kamloops. We spent the morning in the town and then drove up Sulphur Mountain where we sa some Elk raoming freely at the roadside.
The Inn that we stayed at was very friendly and comfortable - Dave has been renamed "Harry Potter " as he made a bed up under the stairs in our family room !
We Drove through Banff National Park which became a wildlife preserved area in 1885 - it is huge at 6,641 square kilometers/2,564 square miles, so easy to get lost. We had a little chuckle when Dave said " Can we go to the park one day?" " We're in it ! " We responded !
The Pam Pam is fully charged and back to map reading after a good buy of peanut butter fudge in The Mountain Chocolate shop.
Dave was delighted because we saw a Wolf - still no Bears despite several tourist sightings of them this week. They have closed an area near to us because of Grizzly Bear sightings.
Dave has now bought a Bear bell with the hope of attracting them.....
On route to Kamloops we visited Lake Louise - a huge lake that sits in a bowl carved by glacial ice and framed by a dark green forest with a backdrop of snow capped mountains. The water is aquamarine and is spectacular like that of a picture postcard.
As we are no south west and in British Columbia, the time difference is back another hour, so we are now 8 hours behind GMT - an extra hour tonight to have an extra Canadian cider whilst I update the blog and Tiger and Dave watch Superman on the cable TV in The Sandman hotel. The Pam Pam is asleep and recharging next door.
